Education matters

During our New Year holidays we had a lot of different businesses and made fun with all our friends, met a big amount of people and did many things. But it’s time to start studying as we need to improve our knowledge to get more marks. That’s why we need more practice.
The theme that was offered is called “EDUCATION”. When I saw two videos the first thing that I though was:” hm… these men said a lot of useful information which I should bear in mind.” The rough idea was that students need to have favorable environment for opportunities. Its common knowledge that people (I’m talking not only about adults) who had more conditions for studying were prone to progress mare than that people why didn’t. BUT, of course, there were (and I’m sure are) exceptions people who had mental agility and natural talent to study and because of their laziness (or, maybe, lack of money) didn’t have desire to change something in their lives.
Sugata Mitra showed us how is important desire in studying and persuaded us that teachers take one of important roles in education. No, I’m not talking about 45-minute lessons during which they try to explain Math, English, Geography or Science. I am talking about their help in personal development of children. Teachers should stimulate and try to encourage children to make new progresses.
The second video was more interesting to me. He confirmed the words of Sugata Mitra that teachers should help to stimulate desire of children to become wiser and try to realize that only we can build our lives. Also, he said the brilliant phrase of Benjamin Franklin:” There are three sorts of people in the world: Those who are immovable, people who don't get it, they don't want to get it, they're not going to do anything about it; there are people who are movable, people who see the need for change and are prepared to listen to it; and there are people who move, people who make things happen.”  Also, I agree with words that kids prosper best with a broad curriculum that celebrates their various talents, not just a small range of them.

We should understand the aims of lessons which we attend day by day. It is not necessarily to be straight A student, because points (marks) don’t demonstrate our mentality, but putting enough efforts will bring enormous benefits in our personal development.  Of course, not all subjects are interesting for us (and I’m convinced not all of them will be useful in our daily lives in the future) but it is my firm conviction that only with their help we will be literate and get our high education
